ANDI SafeAir Wreck Diver (SWD) + Technical Wreck Diver (TWD)

Wreck SkillThe Technical Wreck Diver Training course identifies the dangers and added risks, develops the skills, tasks loading, problem solving, knowledge, and the ability to more safely dive in a shipwreck-overhead environment within the limits of the ANDI standards set forth for this rating.

The ANDI Technical Wreck Course consist of three (3) parts performed in sequence.

  1. Classroom Theory
  2. Land Skills
  3. Underwater Skills

Student Prerequisites:

  1. Technical Wreck students must be 18 years of age.
  2. ANDI – certified Complete SafeAir User or any diver holding equivalent certification from any recognized training agency. Be sure that the “equivalent rating” is not simply an equal to the SafeAir Sport diver in scope.
  3. ANDI SafeAir Wreck Diver or equivalent.
  4. Technical SafeAir Diver or equivalent.
  5. The candidate should be able to present a log book showing current diving activity and diving experience of not less than 50 dives after OWD certification. This program may be combined with any other specialty group (except Night Dive), i.e. Boat Diving, Deeper Diving, Side Mount, etc.

ANDI Cavern Diver – Level 2 (CVN)IMG_2966

The Cavern Diver Training course helps to develop the minimum skills and knowledge required to dive in the overhead environment safely, while not exceeding the specified standards set forth by ANDI. The course explains the dangers and risks involved while diving in the overhead environment.

The course develops and establishes minimum skills, tasks loading, problem solving, knowledge, and the ability to safely cavern dive. Problem solving in the cavern course includes, but is not limited to emergency procedures, buoyancy control, propulsion techniques and body positioning. ANDI feels that this course will have a significant safety benefit for all active.

Pre-requisites:
The Cavern student must be open water certified with at least 20 non-training dives. Student must present documentation verifying current diving activities and total dive experience.
Instructor must use the student’s interview and experience in their review when making their decision as to the viability of a given student’s entry into this level of training.
Cavern student must be 16 years of age with signed and notarized parental consent. Provisional status certification for younger divers with the approval of certifying instructor.

ANDI Cave Diver – Level 3 (CAV)IMG_2939

The Level 3 Cave Diver Training course helps to develop the skills and knowledge required to dive in the overhead environment safely, while not exceeding the specified standards set forth by ANDI. The course explains the dangers and risks involved while diving in the overhead environment going beyond the daylight zone.

Pre-requisites:
The Cave student must be Cavern and CSU qualified. Student must present documentation verifying current diving activities and total dive experience. Instructor must use the student’s interview and experience in their review when making their decision as to the viability of a given student’s entry into this level of training.

This is an upper level, equipment intensive training program. Instructors are asked not to lower the overall caliber of graduates by accepting candidate enrollment of average or below average divers and experience levels. Explain to the students BEFORE enrollment that additional practice dives, under instructor supervision (DIRECT or INDIRECT), may be required before certification will be awarded.

ANDI Cave Explorer – Level 4 (CVX)IMG_3361

The Cave Level 4 Diver Training course identifies the dangers and added risks, develops the skills, tasks loading, problem solving, knowledge, and the ability to more safely dive in a cave/overhead environment within the limits of the ANDI standards set forth for this rating.

The ANDI cave diver is qualified to utilize SafeAir mixtures with no restrictions using any approve ANDI application and to select and apply appropriate SafeAir breathing mixtures during cave dives. The emphasis is on extended range cave diving.

Pre-requisites:
ANDI certified as Level 3 Cave Diver or equivalent, Level 3 Rebreather Explorer with L3 Cave Diver if the student uses the Closed-Circuit Rebreather they are qualified to dive with.
The candidate should be able to present a log book showing current diving activity commensurate with the anticipated course objectives.

This is an upper level, equipment intensive training program. The certification awarded indicates the highest level of cave diving expertise and experience. Instructors are asked not to lower the overall caliber of graduates by accepting candidate enrollment of average or below average divers and experience levels. Explain to the students BEFORE enrollment that additional practice dives, under instructor supervision (DIRECT or INDIRECT), may be required before certification will be awarded.

8 Days 14 Dives (Combine with CVN + CAV + CVX)

SM OW DSMB

ANDI Side Mount Diver Level 2

The ANDI Sidemount diver will be trained with sidemount equipment configuration. The student will be able to dive with tanks attached, one tank clipped on and one tank in front. Be able to swim with both tanks in front while diving. Student should be able to remove and replace cylinders while swimming.

Pre-requisites:
ANDI certified as Advanced diver and Level 2 CSU.
The candidate should be able to present a log book showing current diving activity commensurate with the anticipated course objectives, AND a total diving experience of NOT LESS THAN 20 dives. This is an upper level, equipment intensive training program. The certification awarded indicates the highest level of diving expertise and experience. Instructors are asked not to lower the overall calibre of graduates by accepting candidate enrolment of average or below average divers and experience levels. Explain to the students BEFORE enrolment that additional practice dives, under instructor supervision (DIRECT or INDIRECT), may be required before certification will be awarded.

ANDI Certified HammerHead CCR Diver (CCR-HH-Level II)HHCCR

The ANDI CCR-HammerHead Diver training course is designed to provide the basic level of training and familiarity with the HammerHead CCR such that the diver will be prepared to dive the unit under similar circumstances as to that which their training-experience provided.

Pre-requisites:

  1. Be Openwater certified and have proof of 50 logged dives under similar conditions as to that where the course will be conducted.
  2. Have an ANDI CSU (level II) SafeAir certification (or equivalent).
  3. Pass a written “Pre-Test” on subjects covered in the Level-II SafeAir course (CSU) that are pertinent to diving with CCR’s.
  4. Be competent and familiar with all equipment to be used in conjunction with this course excluding the HammerHead unit itself (i.e. comfortable with use of an RBS, drysuits etc.).
  5. Must sign an ANDI CCR Liability waiver and be fit to dive. A medical may be required by the instructor.
  6. CCR Crossover students MUST provide a copy of current CCR certification.

5 Days 8 Dives (with 2 CW + 6 OW)

ANDI Certified Technical Rebreather Diver (TRD – L3)

The ANDI Technical Rebreather Diver is designed to build on the basic training presented in the Level II program and Teach proper procedures for planning and executing staged Decompression dives using a CCR, and to assist the diver transition from a CCR “USER” to a CCR “DIVER”!.
Pre-requisites:

  1. Be Openwater certified
  2. Be certified as a CCR diver on the intended CCR and have proof of (25) logged rebreather dives under similar conditions to the course location.
  3. Have an ANDI TSD (Level 3 SafeAir certification (or equivalent)). TSD may be combined with TRD, providing the student has an ANDI CSU or equivalent rating.
    Instructors may administer the ANDI CSU exam to all students as an indication of the students level of comprehension regarding SafeAir diving procedures.

Course Duration:
3 Days 5 Dives (with 1 CW + 4 OW)
6 Days 9 Dives (with 1 CW + 8 OW) conbine with Technical SafeAir Diver (TSD)
